My name is Jean Cannon.  I am a marine biologist, business person, author, speaker and grandmother.  I have been around this world and swum in the seas long enough to see changes happening much to fast.  I am deeply concerned about the future that my grandchildren and their generation will face as adults if the climate continues to change at the pace it is now - and the predictions are that it is going to get worse.

I understand the constraints that small business owners are under and I know all the excuses: it’s all too hard; my business is only small; I work in an office so I don’t have emissions (which is not true).  And the clinchers are: times are tough right now; this is a crazy time to do anything extra; it is going to cost much too much; it will destroy my business; I simply can’t cope with anything extra. 

We do not like to change and many of us only willingly do so when we have no choice.  We have reached a point now where we have no choice but it is hard for many of us to accept this.
